SAPA:

Located in Lao Cai province the far north west of the country near the Chinese border, this old French hill station is home to many ethnic minority people, including the H’mong, Tay, Dao and Thai.

HA NOI:

Hanoi currently boasts Vietnam’s most modern airport, Noi Bai, 35 km from the city and opened only a couple of years ago, although a new, and much larger, international airport for Ho Chi Minh City is at an advanced stage of planning.

HA LONG:

In 1994, this wonderful nature in Northeast Viet Nam became part of the UNESCO world heritage List. More than 3,000 islands rise up out of the crystal clear water in the Gulf of Tonkin. You can make a boat trip through the rock formations and visit the caves.

HOI AN:

Not far away from Danang (30km), Hoi An was an important port developed in 17th century and remained so for a long time. There used to be canals parallel to the streets, so merchandise could be loaded straight from the back of houses onto the boats.

HUE:

The Imperial City of Hue was the capital of Vietnam during the reign of the Nguyen dynasty, the last dynasty in Vietnam. Even today, the Vietnamese regard Hue with awe and respect. Hue also has the distinction of being one of the rainiest cities in Vietnam, receiving more than 120 inches each year

CENTRAL HIGHLANDS:

Much of the Central Highlands is a series of flat plateaux, mainly inhabited by various ethnic groups. Apart from Da Lat, the tourist guide books are somewhat dismissive of the area. Many remarkable sights and attractions are not even mentioned, probably because they are too far off the regular tourist routes.

SAI GON:

Like many cities in Vietnam, Saigon did not escape the wrath of war. Since the beginning, Saigon has had quite a traumatic history. There are many citations to the birth of Saigon and the origin of its name. In the 15th century, this area were swamps, marshes and thick forests.

MEKONG DELTA:

It is the bottom half of Vietnam's two rice baskets, the other being the Red River Delta in the North . This vast delta is formed by the deposition of the multiple tentacles and tributaries of the mighty Mekong River which has its origin in the Tibetan highland plateau 2,800 miles away.
