Da Lat city is probably one of Vietnam's most well known vacation destination. Since the turn of the century, Da Lat has been the location spot for well-to-do Vietnamese and foreigners. It is the unofficial honeymoon Mecca of Viet Nam. Located on Lam Dong high lands, part of the greater Central high land of Viet Nam , the city is 1500m above the sea level and is 305km from Saigon. The name Da Lat originates from the hill tribe people in this region. It literally means Stream of the Lat people.

Afternoon arrival in Da Lat. Da Lat is a charming mountain town located at about 1500 metres elevation and climate is cooler than the lowlands and the landscape is dominated by pine trees, wild flowers and waterfalls. Drive to the old Dalat Railwaystation. You'll board the old Cremailliere railway for a short trainride of 8 kms on the last stretch of this famous railway. Descend towards Phan Rang. Visit the Po Klong Garai Cham Tower before driving to Nha Trang. This red brick structure is one of the remaining of the once prosperous kingdom of Champa. There are still Cham people living in this part of Vietnam and the Po Klong Garai Tower is still in use as a shrine.
Continue to Nha Trang. The Yasaka Nha Trang Hotel is right on the beach.
